GUIDED ROUTINE DTC INDEX PERFORMED RESET OF SASM MODULE AND ROAD-TESTED VEHICLE NOW STEERING THE WHEEL IS STRAIGHT. THERE IS VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING OVER 40 MPH RFB PERFORM ROAD FORCE AND BALANCE OF TIRES * PERFORMED ROAD FORCE OF 4 TIRES, FOUND TIRES TO HAVE HIGH ROAD FORCE 29, CUSTOMER STATES TIRES WERE BALANCE AT ANOTHER SHOP, FOUND TIRES TO NOT BE BALANCED OUT TO 0.
Concern: Noise & vibration - other - customer states: Vibration in steering wheel when driving 60mph+. * Test drove vehicle and verified customer's concern. Created a session and escalated concern given the multiple re-occurrence. Followed vibration flow chart and performed advised repair measures. Torqued front and rear suspension. Performed a 4 wheel alignment and found vibration still present. Checked wheel balancing and found right rear tire to be measuring at 42lbs. Tech removed tire and found inner dampening foam not properly secured onto the tire. Removed and replaced tire. While balancing the new tire, found tire to need to be road forced matched. Also found all other wheels in need of a road force matching. Performed road force match to all wheels and tires and confirmed all measurements to be within tolerance. Installed and torqued all wheels. Performed a final road test and found noise no longer present. Correction: General Diagnosis

SLIGHTLY LEFT AND RIGHT.  CHECK VEHICLE FOR CUSTOMER CONCERN, FOUND INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, STEERING WHEEL WILL SHIMMY BACK AND
FORTH SLIGHTLY. FOUND IT NOT TO BE A WHEEL/TIRE BALANCING ISSUE AS ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT, FOUND WHEN THIS ISSUE OCCURS POWER STEERING GEAR TORQUE SENSOR PARAMETER GOES HAYWIRE.
FOUND INTERNAL MALFUNCTION IN POWER STEERING GEAR AND MODULE ASSEMBLY. NECESSARY TO REMOVE AND REPLACE POWER STEERING GEAR AND MODULE RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY, REPROGRAM PSCM,
wee; 31YN67796703 REALIGN TOE AND RETEST. FOUND VEHICLE NOW OPERATING AS DESIGNED WITH NO FURTHER INTERMITTENT MOVEMENT OF STEERING WHEEL. COMPLETED.
THAT THERE IS VIBRATION FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL FROM THE FRONT END AT FREEWAY SPEEDS--CHECK BALANCE AND ROUNDNESS OF TIRES/WHEELS-CONTACT ADVISOR * 2810 Removed and balanced all four tires taxes. Set proper tire pressure and remounted wheels. Road-tested vehicle to 70 mph found no vibration.
