After multiple failed attempts to code and perform basic setting I opened a VTA ticket. VTA Case number SK-763774. Was advised to Recommend to perform an alignment and then try and set steering angle sensor basic settings. If the concern is still present, under the special functions tab, run the KS
master gateway or KS master cluster and combined system test plan, then run "Ctrl. module software configuration" on AW19 and on AW44 modules.
Then select the FES ? Function clearing system (FES)?, selecting #2 ?Re-create? or ?restore function? and run this for AW19 and AW44. Then
perform basic settings on G85. After multiple attempt and still unsuccessful basic settings of the G85. I updated VTA and they then advised me to check the MVBs for the G85 position. If the position of the G85 is not approximately 0~, the G85 most likely will not complete its basic settings properly. When attempting the basic settings to check if the status is stating that the G85 basic settings are
?permitted? or not. If it is not permitted and the G85 is at approximately 0~, try a capacitive discharge and perform the following test plans under guided functions for AW-44 downloading the characteristic curves and when completed, the test plan for adaptation of the electro-mechanical power steering. After these complete, cycle the key and note if any errors/faults remain.

[continue for the record above] * procedure as stated in the story. programmed the vehicle with the new solenoid strategy and solenoid body id. cleared the adaptive learn. started the vehicle. kept adding trans fluid as need till up to the
spec temps and was at the correct l evel used 4 qts ulv. also had to top off the coolant system used 1 gallon of coolant . went for a road test pass. performed flat tow mode procedure. and also disable it. pass. decided to but in flat to mode then disconnect the battery to see if that would of made the vehicle go back in park trying to simulate a low
battery as best as possible. reconnected the battery vehicle was still in neutral but did not say in flat tow mode anymore. went ahead and programmed the tern and the pcm to the latest calibration . lifted the
vehicle on the rack to test the 4x4 system pass. lower the vehicle back down and did another road test pass. using the another vehicle back the
vehicle up to the navigator and connected the 4 pin trailer connecter from the navigator to the truck then place in tow mode to simulate towing. using a multiple to check the battery as well to see if the
battery was losing its charge while the running lights were on. after running for about 2 hours checked the battery 12.5 was what the battery was reading off the navigator seems to not be losing its charge. also checked multiple time while connected to the other vehicle acting like we are towing it was still in tow mode and never went out of tow mode. road test the vehicle again and performed flat tow mode 3 more times all pass. also went ahead and reveres the tear down/ overhaul procedure of the old transmission as stated in the story . the old transmission is not to spec . at this time it is hard to determine the 100% route cause of what caused the transmission to back into park and caused transmission failure. at this time release the vehicle to the customer . cc 42. When attempting the basic settings to check if the status is stating that the G85 basic settings are ?permitted? or not. If it is not permitted and the G85 is at approximately 0~, try a capacitive discharge and
perform the following test plans under guided functions for AW-44 downloading the characteristic curves and when completed, the test plan for adaptation of the electro-mechanical power steering. [continue record above] * VERSION 14 (EMP# 6637,12MAY21 16:06): 20681 Verified concern, had another tech turn the steering wheel while I was listening for the noise. Noise sounds like it was coming from the steering gear.
Recommend replacement of the steering gear. Disconnected and removed the battery and battery tray. Disconnected the steering gear harness
from the fuse panel. Removed the steering column from the steering gear. Raised vehicle and removed the front wheels. Removed the noise insulation. Disconnected the tie-rod ends from the steering knuckle. Loosened the ball joint nuts. Disconnected the pendulum support from the engine. Disconnected the oil thermal/level sensor. Disconnected the stabilizer end links from the struts. Dropped the sub-frame. Removed the heat shield from the steering gear. Removed the rest of the
steering gear harness from the steering gear. Removed the steering gear from the sub-frame. Installed the new steering gear. Returned vehicle
to its original state. Performed an alignment with minor adjustments to the front and rear toe. Hooked up battery maintainer and scan tool attempted to code new control module and perform basic settings. Control module did code correctly but it did not perform basic settings. After multiple failed attempts to code and perform basic setting I opened a VTA ticket. VTA Case number SK-763774. Was advised to Recommend to perform an alignment and then try and set steering angle sensor basic settings. If the concern is still present, under the
special functions tab, run the KS master gateway or KS master cluster and combined system test plan, then run "Ctrl. module software configuration" on AW19 and on AW44 modules. Then select the FES ? Function clearing system (FES)?, selecting #2 ?Re-create? or ?restore function? and run this for AW19 and AW44. Then perform basic settings
on G85. After multiple attempt and still unsuccessful basic settings of the G85. I updated VTA and they then advised me to check the MVBs for the G85 position. If the position of the G85 is not approximately 0~, the G85 most likely will not complete its basic settings properly.
After performing tasks the steering angle sensor basic settings still could not be performed updated VTA. VTA advised to replace with another
steering gear. Disconnected and removed the battery and battery tray. Disconnected the steering gear harness from the fuse panel. Removed the
steering column from the steering gear. Raised vehicle and removed the front wheels. Removed the noise insulation. Disconnected the tie-rod ends from the steering knuckle. Loosened the ball joint nuts.

Installed the new steering gear. Returned vehicle to its original state. Vehicle was doing the same thing as before. Updated VTA of my findings, they
elevated to QTM and advised me to leave feedback on ODISS as they believe the test plan for the basic setting for the G85 is the issue itself.

struts. Dropped the sub-frame. Removed the heat shield from the steering gear. Removed the rest of the steering gear harness from the steering gear. Removed the steering gear from the sub-frame. Installed the new steering gear. Returned vehicle to its original state. Vehicle was doing the same thing as before. Updated VTA of my findings, they
elevated to QTM and advised me to leave feedback on ODISS as they believe the test plan for the basic setting for the G85 is the issue itself. Was advised to perform a capacitive discharge, scan and clear
any faults and reattempt to perform the steering angle sensor test plan. Only this time to disconnected the scanner and lock the vehicle
for 5-10 minutes then to drive the vehicle. This test did not fix the issue. The second test I was advised to perform another capacitive discharge. Hook up the scanner and perform the steering angle adaption test plan again. But this time to slowly turn the wheel right to lock and hold for 30 seconds and then to left lock and hold for 30 seconds and if this does not work the to try going to the left first and then to the right. This procedure did not work updated VTA. Was advised to disconnect the battery from the J949 emergency call module (as per TT 91-21-02TT/Transaction No.: 2062825/1) and code, FES, the ABS module. I removed the center air vents. Removed the infotainment display. Removed the J949 and disconnected the battery. Left battery disconnected for about 5 minutes. Reconnected the battery for the J949 Reinstalled the J949. Reinstalled the infotainment display. Reinstalled the center air vent. Hooked up battery charger. Hooked up scanner and performed FES, Coded, and performed basic settings on the ABS control module.
