Replace worm shaft gear per TSB 20 - ST-003H-l.
Retest for noise, scraping noise heard is gone .

PERFORMED STEERING ANGLE SENSOR CALIBRATION AND TEST DROVE VEHICLE AND VERIFIED THAT NOISE HAD GONE AWAY

A SQUEALING/SCREECHING SOUND WHENEVER TURNING AT SPEED. ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CUSTOMER INPUTS A DEGREE OF STEERING THAT TAKES IT AWAY FROM THE CENTER. IF THE VEHICLE IS MAKING A LONG RIGHT OR LEFT-HAND CORNER, THE SOUND IS NOT PRESENT FOR THE ENTIRE CORNER, ONLY THE INITIAL STEERING INPUT THAT LEADS UP TO THE CORNER. HAPPENS AT MOST SPEEDS. THE CUSTOMER STATES IT APPEARED TO BE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, BUT NOW SEEMS TO HAVE SHIFTED TO THE FRONT. * 36841 SEE LINE ABOVE

CLIENT STATES THE 35-38MPH SLIGHT GRIND NOISE AND CAN FEEL IN THE STEERING COLUMN. * COULD NOT DUPLICATE ON 2 TEST DRIVES. REC. TEST DRIVE WITH SHOP FOREMAN.
