Air Conditioning:Inoperative
AC NOT BLOWING * 2001 LINE Ð RELATED, VERIFIED REPAIR.
WHEN HITTING COOLED SEATS ENGAGES HEATED SEATS HAS TO HIT COOLED BUTTON FOR IT RESET * 20679 VENTILATED SEATS BLOW CABIN AIR THROUGH THE SEATS. UNTIL THE HVAC SYSTEM COOLS THE AIR INSIDE THE CABIN. THE AIR FLOWING THROUGH THE SEATS WILL FEEL WARM. THIS IS A NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTIC.
THE A-C GOES OUT AND DOESN'T GET COLD ESPECIALLY WHEN USING VOICE CONTROLS AND ON ANY PHONE CALLS. A-C WILL NOT WORK ON A PHONE CAL. * intermittently open circuit vehicle came in with a p0533 - ca pressure sensor circuit high code stored, at1d intermittently active. performed diag and determined, that the. at the PCM is not providing the proper voltage to complete this circuit. replaced pct after PCM replacement found P0533 code is no longer but has a persistently active u0422 - implausible data from code in the HVAC module and no ac operation. diagnostics for this code has me tracing communication circuits. tested comm circuits between star can connector and HVAC module with doom and found to have proper voltages. contacted star (case 101905793i and after testing circuits was instructed to replace the HVAC module. this did not repair the code and I still have no ac operation. continued to test circuits as instructed and after finding no other issues were instructed to replace replaced and this still did not repair the issue. star case escalated to TA  and after a phone conversation with 1 TA, ran a can bus overlay to eliminate an issue in the dash harness
from the HVAC module to the star connector. still no change. after a conversation with Tony Fyfe, our area TA, I set up PICO scope to check for any interference on the can circuit from any other modules. all waveforms look normal .our conversation led to discussing all data for the HVAC system and I let him know that I had never had a pressure reading in the HVAC module. data was always showing FFFF. verified this data with another . ruck and found the new truck has an actual number in the data. verified the SV reference and the ground at the pressure transducer and found them to be good. jumped the 5V to the return
signal and expected to see a change in the data but nothing happened. traced the return circuit to 2 bulk connectors and found in the connector xy100a pin 28 the male side pin was lower in the connector than the rest, checked the. pin and found that it would not. seat into the connector -lock is broken and will not allow the pin to lock into  connector. removed the pins fr. om both connector halves and moved them 1 position over to an empty cavity and verified that both are fully seated. checked data and found that I now have an actual pressure reading and active code u0422 is now stored cleared code and it did not return. reconnected everything and started the vehicle, an ac system is now operating normally and has no ether issues.
A/C is not working since the last repair that was done at your shop * LEAKING. WAS NOT COOLING, CHECK PRESSURE AND IT DIDN'T HAVE FREON, CHECK FOR LEAK AND FOUND A/C CONDENSER WAS LEAKING THRU WELD. REPLACE A/C CONDENSER VACUUM AND CHARGE A/C SYSTEM WITH R1234YF FREON. ROAD TEST AND IS WORKING OK...
CUSTOMER STATES THE AC IS NOT WORKING again * 0
THE OUTSIDE HVAC VENTS DON'T BLOW VERY MUCH AI * Customer concern not duplicated
A/C ISN'T WORKING * MISC CUSTOMER STATES PERFORM MISCELLANEOUSLY REPAIRS
A CUSTOMER STATES AIR CONDITION NOT OPERATING PROPERLY - CHECK AND ADVISE * perform function check, verified customer complaint, scan for codes, found code b1940-16 cabin fan- circuit below threshold. Perform inspection, and test of components, found excessive draw, replace cabin
fan motor and regulator,, clear all codes, verified repair, note: recommend cabin dust filter due with service at 20k miles.
