VAN SHIFTS VERY HARD * POSSIBLE STICKING CHECK VALVE IN VALVE BODY, FAULTY VALVE BODY ROAD TEST AND CONFIRMED VAN SHIFTS VERY HARD. CONNECT/DISCONNECT BATTERY CHARGER AND SDS. PERFORMED QUICK TEST. FOUND NO CODES IN TRANSMISSION CONTROL UNIT. CHECKED SHIFT ADAPTATIONS AND FOUND SOME SHIFTS ARE NOT LOOKING AS
GOOD AS OTHERS BUT ALL APPEAR TO BE IN SPEC. REMOVED EGR VALVE AND CHECKED FOR STICKING, FOUND OKAY. DETERMINED
POSSIBLE THAT TRANSMISSION IS LOW ON FLUID CAUSING A HARD SHIFT. DRAINED TRANSMISSION, INSPECTED FLUID AND FOUND OKAY. FILLED TRANSMISSION TO SPEC AND ROAD TEST AGAIN. STILL SHIFTS HARD. ROAD TEST WITH SHOP FOREMAN AND DETERMINED VALVE BODY IS NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY. DRAINED TRANSMISSION
AND TORQUE CONVERTER. REMOVED PAN AND FILTER. REMOVED AND REPLACED VALVE BODY. REASSEMBLED AS DESIGNED AND PERFORMED INITIAL START UP. SET FLUID LEVEL. ROAD TEST. VAN SHIFTS SMOOTHLY AS DESIGNED AT THIS TIME. RETURN VEHICLE TO CLIENT. NOTE: THERE IS AN OVERLAP IN DIAGNOSIS ON LINE 4 AND 5 AS BOTH NEEDED TO BE DRIVEN AT HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS TO BE DIAGNOSED.
VEH NOT SHIFTING INTO GEAR AUTO- * 86945 basic part # 7al03 condition # 30 excessive wear road tested and verified concern. eec5 diag code p0729v- performed line pressure test and low in all ranges, performed stalled test and low in park and reverse, inspected fluid level passed, inspected fluid condition and fluid burnt. R&R transmission and mount on bench fixture, dissembled transmission and found foreign material though out transmission, found over drive clutch burnt, found direct clutches burnt, found torque converter discoloration, found pump has excessive wear on surface, found check ball in separator plate and found 3rd 5th and reverse valve binding in bore in solenoid body, performed smart cost cap and advise me to replaced transmission, installed new transmission and updates new ID tag to PCM. PCM has latest calibrations, cleared adaptive relearns and performed adaptive drive cycle on road test, re road test ed ok at this time, performed alignment and adjusted front toe. m-time for

AFTER ASSEMBLY FOUND ABNORMAL KNOCKING NOISE WITH CLUTCH REALIZED IN NEUTRAL. ANY FORWARD GEAR PROVED THE SAME NOISE TO BE PRESENT ENGINE SPEED RELATED.

vehicle into service bay area for inspections, check fluid full, check wire harness and electrical connectors, ok. check linkage adjustment, ok. hook up ids scanner and retrieve dt.cs, none found, check oasis for tsb-ssm. found tsb 18-2274 for harsh shifting, perform tsb, reprogram pcm tem to the latest calibrations, clear trans adaptive tables and drive cycle, road test after, transmission works fine.
